PICOWAY VS PICOSURE WHICH IS BETTER?

This is a common question and although the names sound similar, there is a big difference between the two laser systems!

PicoWay is manufactured by Syneron Candela and is known for its high peak power and ultra-short picosecond pulses of energy. PicoWay is capable of 4 true wavelengths 1064nm, 785nm, 730nm and 532nm. This means that all 4 wavelengths will operate at full picosecond power and speed. Therefore it is capable of easily removing all tattoo colors and on all skin types.

PicoSure is made by Cynosure and only has one true 755nm wavelength. There are optional filtered hand pieces to convert to 532nm and 1064nm, but because these are not true wavelengths, there will be a noticeable lack of power. Unlike the PicoWay, you lose the ability to fully control the spot size and fluence to the desired ranges, causing a lack of power and control.

All 4 wavelengths on the PicoWay operate at full picosecond power, whereas PicoSure requires filtered hand pieces to convert to 532nm and 1064nm, causing a loss in energy, reducing its effectiveness at shattering pigment.

PicoWay has a shorter pulse duration on all wavelengths, reducing thermal impact and boosting its photoacoustic effect. This allows it to efficiently target pigment while minimizing risk of hypo- or hyperpigmentation and impact on surrounding tissues.

PicoWay has higher peak power, therefore it is shatters the pigment more effectively, clearing tattoos more quickly than PicoSure.

CONCLUSION

In summary, because of PicoWays higher peak power, shorter pulse duration and and true picosecond wavelengths, it is superior at removing tattoos more efficiently and is safer on all skin types(especially darker skin).

This is why it was a no question why we chose the PicoWay over all other laser systems to bring into our studio. The PicoWay is hands down the worlds most advanced tattoo removal laser!
